Did you know that around 2 in 5 relationships now start online? Cyber criminals do. Romance scams are a type of scam where cyber criminals pose as a genuine love interest, only to scam victims out of money. In the UK last year, over £73 million was lost to romance scams. This session digs deep into how romance scams work, how we can identify romance scams, and what to do if you, or someone you know, may have been the victim of a romance scam. There is plenty of time for questions at the end of this session, so you can ask anything you need to know about this type of fraud.
