- SCVO’s cyber awareness campaign shares hints and tips for staff and volunteers to help them spot and respond to cyber risks, this quarter don’t take the bait.
- Have you heard of passkeys? National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) are keen to hear your views on this more secure alternative to username and password sign-ins.
- Almost a third of voluntary organisations have low/no confidence that they are protected against cyber risk, Highlands & Islands Enterprise are supporting those in the region with digital transformation and access to digital specialist advice.

Recent Incidents & Lessons Learned
- CyberScotland partner, Jude McCorry, reflects on recent cyber incidents impacting UK retailers, explaining why cyber resilience ought to be everyone’s business.
- New Scottish charity, Cyber & Fraud Hub, established to support individuals who have fallen victim to online scams/fraud and provide educational resources to help prevent others becoming victims of these types of crime.
- Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) has decided not to continue with investigation in to the ransomware attack against the British Library back in 2023.
Awareness and Guidance
- SCVO continue to rollout Helping the Third Sector Stay Safe Online sessions with future events planned in Dundee, Dunfermline, Elgin and virtually.
- Other upcoming events include Introduction to Cyber Security for Staff (Online) and Digital Scotland 2025 (Edinburgh).
