As part of CyberScotland Week 2026, DataKirk is delivering an interactive online session for young people aged 12–18 who want to understand how cyber attacks happen and learn practical ways to protect themselves online.
This engaging, beginner-friendly session introduces the world of cyber defence in a safe and responsible way. Participants will explore how attackers think, how defenders detect and respond to threats, and how red, blue and purple teams work together to strengthen cyber resilience.
Through guided activities inspired by real-world Security Operations Centre investigations, attendees will analyse phishing emails, examine social engineering techniques, and learn simple actions they can take to stay safer online.
The session also highlights exciting career pathways in cyber security, including ethical hacking, digital forensics, and incident response.
No prior technical experience is required.
